African Olive Wood Blanks – Rich, Naturally Figured Exotic Hardwood

African Olive is a striking exotic hardwood valued for its warm golden-brown tones, dark chocolate veining, and naturally oily luster. The dramatic contrast between heartwood and darker streaks gives each blank a refined, organic character that stands out in finely crafted pieces.

Dense and durable, African Olive turns smoothly with sharp tools and finishes to a silky, glass-like sheen with minimal effort. Its natural oils enhance depth and color, making it a favorite for pen blanks, knife scales, bottle stoppers, tool handles, and luxury small turnings.

African Olive offers excellent stability once properly dried and provides a satisfying weight and balance in finished work—ideal for makers seeking a premium feel with distinctive visual appeal.
